Attires, dances, traditions and specific traditions identify a place. Do you know the ones from where you are from?
Happy Week Everybody. Here I am back bringing you a new post with two typical Panamanian accessories used with the folkloric dresses. I have used with casual clothe, showing a combination Fashion and ” De allá donde uno (famous saying that means : from where we are from)” , as everybody say’s in the interior of my country. This are The Pepita of Guate or Pinta de Mosquito Hats, and Panamanian Cutarras (Sandals). Both accessories are normally used by the men. But who said women could not use them?
The Pinta the Mosquito or Pepita de Guate Hats is an elegant accessory, even thought is not that formal as the famous Blanco and Pintao hats, but it is more luxurious than the Junco hat. It is made in the districts of Penonome and La Pintada in Panama and is characterized by the little “V” black design lying on the surface of the hat.
The curarras, on the other hand, is a symbolic shoes from panama characterized by the work and tradition of the men of the interior. The name comes from the name of the leader of an indian comunity called Atataura, who lived in Parita before the Spanish settlers came to the country. It is a handmade shoes wish principle material is the cattle leather. It is a fresh and a light shoes, ideal for the rural comunity work. It is also used by the men in folkloric dances groups as the best shoes for the zapateo.
